Welcome to WinSplit, the Windows File Splitter that you were looking for all this time. Want to carry a 10 Meg file on your poor old 1.44 Meg floppies? Want to forward the beautiful but 1.5M size wallpaper to your friends by email and worried that your email program will not allow an attachment that big? Maybe you have that File Zipper so that you may compress and send, but don't know if your friends possess one. So come in to WinSplit, the universal panacea to these and many such similar situations. Just select the file to split and size of the chunks and let WinSplit do the rest in a flash. And if you want to merge the split files, just select them again and voila! Don't have WinSplit at hand and you have some files to merge as one? Don't fret. You can merge the files using the old DOS commands too.

WinSplit was created because its creator had the same problems you must have had. This application not only makes it easy to split and join files; it also requires no setup program and no big directories with lots of subsidiary files to do its work. You can just run the standalone program from anywhere and it will faithfully do its work. Besides it has support for drag and drop and context menus. And to top it all it is FREE! You don't have to pay any big company any hard buck to increase their already overflowing coffers. And if you want the source code, you can also have it for free. Its under GPL.
